PURCHASE SOLAR - REFINANCING HOME - SELLING HOME - FORECLOSURE/BK

What is a UCC-1?

A UCC-1 is a recorded document with the local county that indicates that the Photovoltaic system is owned by a third party and not the property owner. It is not a lien but a notification to prevent the loss of the system in a sale, foreclosure or bankruptcy.

What is needed to remove the UCC-1 for refinancing/selling purposes?

Solar Management Services requires the contract holder to complete a 3rd party authorization form in order to discuss the account with any parties other than the contract holder. An account representative will reach out to the customer and request that the form be completed with DocuSign.com. We do not accept any other form of authorization.

Once that has been received the requesting party will be contacted via email with the UCC requirements. In the case of selling the property the transfer procedure will be provided first and then the UCC Requirements will be provided with the transfer documents.

Solar Management Services does not do a subornation of the UCC-1 but will provide the documentation to remove and refile as long as all requirements are met by the requesting party and the contract holder.

***Account must be in good standing before the UCC documents are provided***
